The Bachelor’s degree prepares graduates oriented in the radio, television and film fields, linked to the dramatic arts. The profession of television and radio dramaturg and scriptwriter requires both specialized training as an author and a broader knowledge of cultural history, mass communication and a wide range of artistic and journalistic genres.

The knowledge and skills acquired at the Bachelor’s level are deepened during the follow-up Master’s studies.

Graduates of the bachelor’s degree demonstrate expertise in the theory and history of audiovisual and audio production as well as dramaturgical production. They are able to critically view and adequately apply creative methods and practices. They are prepared to use and develop original ideas, attitudes and creative activities across the media spectrum, with an emphasis on scriptwriting and authoring. They deepen their knowledge in their chosen area of study – radio, television, film, new media – and are able to actively use creative overlap with other related disciplines. At the same time, they also master the basic issues of copyright and its exploitation.

Thanks to their comprehensive knowledge of the latest developments in the field, graduates of the Master’s programme are able to use and develop original ideas, attitudes and creative activities across the media spectrum, with an emphasis on scriptwriting and authoring. They can produce original radio dramatic or experimental work and documentary and journalistic radio works of broadcast quality. Scriptwriters can then produce dramatic or documentary audiovisual work.

They are able to apply original creative methods in the field of audiovisual and multimedia, dramaturgically ensure the production of radio and television programmes, create expert lecturers’ assessments of scripts, create feature-length scripts, dramaturgically lead the development of feature and documentary scripts and work in creative teams of public media and independent productions.

The aim of the Bachelor’s degree is to produce professionals who are technically skilled, thoughtful and creative. Due to the current development of digital technologies, students are encouraged to consistently and comprehensively develop their authorial skills not only at the scriptwriting level, but also at the level of implementation. The Master’s degree then produces professionals in their field who are able to create original projects, ideas and scripts that can be implemented in public media and independent productions. They can also hold positions as dramaturgs, creative producers or programme staff.
