Projects

Communication within JAMU is an essential part of the management. The development of a school-wide strategy for EU-funded projects is the responsibility of a specially created working group.

The project management methodology corresponds to modern project management. It is based on the tools and methods of project management according to the standards of the international organization IPMA – International Project Management Association (some of the project managers of JAMU are holders of an internationally recognized certificate of this association). Project management software support is used (MS Project; the introduction of Exchange Server is planned), and the routine activities include, in addition to planning and implementation of the project, the continuous control of the implementation of individual activities, budget spending, compliance with schedules and the fulfillment of specified outputs and results.

The Project Office is one of the departments of the Rector’s Office of the Janáček Academy of Performing Arts, established in January 2008. The PK ensures in particular the implementation of projects financed from the Structural Funds of the European Union, methodically manages the process of submitting applications for financial contribution from the University Development Fund and Development Programmes of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports, and the termination of projects implemented under these programmes. It organizes the Summer Intensive English Language Course for JAMU employees and year-round foreign language courses for JAMU employees.

The main objective of the office is to ensure quality conditions for planning, implementation and evaluation of projects carried out by faculties and units of JAMU in relation to their grant strategy and long-term plans and also to methodically manage project managers of JAMU faculties.

The job description of each position is specified in the Project Office Operating Guidelines.
