Scholarships and fees

The fee for longer periods of study is charged to students for studying at universities in the Czech Republic.

If a student studies for longer than the standard period of study plus one year in a bachelor’s or master’s degree programme, the public university will charge a tuition fee.

Periods in which the student has studied in study programmes of the same type and in the current study programme simultaneously are counted only once in the period of study.

The amount of the fee for studies that are longer than the standard period of study increased by one year is specified in the Communication on the amount of study-related fees and certain charges for the academic year. The fee liability is communicated to the student by means of a Tuition Fee Assessment Decision. For the academic year 2023/2024, the fee for each additional six months of study commenced is CZK 21,000.

Reaching the age of 26 refers to the payment of health and social security, not the fee for longer periods of study.

Study-related fees (i.e., the fee for longer study periods and other study-related fees) are regulated by the REGULATION on the amount of study-related fees and certain reimbursements for the academic year 2025/2026.
