JAMU regularly organizes many artistic activities. Several of them are really prestigious and world-established. One example is the International Theatre School Festival SETKÁNÍ/ ENCOUNTER organised by students of the Theatre Faculty, which is one of the most important festivals in Europe and since its inception in 1991 has gained a recognised position among theatre educational and professional festivals. It is also a very important International Leoš Janáček Competition in Brnoin which performers in the following disciplines have been competing at the Faculty of Music since 1994: string quartet, violin, piano, organ, cello, double bass, flute, clarinet, horn and tuba.

JAMU’s significant contribution to the rich offer of cultural and artistic activities of the city of Brno and the entire South Moravian region is represented by at least 220 concerts and more than 150 theatre or multimedia performances per year. The school thus fundamentally complements and shapes social and cultural events in the region and in many ways exceeds them.
