International dazabase for artistic research
The Research Catalogue (RC) is an open access international online portal managed by the Society for Artistic Research (SAR). It offers solutions for the presentation of results and traditional documentation formats for artistic research.
RC allows artists/researchers to deviate from the standard format of journal articles and research archives while maintaining scientific quality. Audiovisual and other multimedia records are not subordinate to the text, but are on an equal footing with it. RC offers the user a space in which audio, images, video, and text can be combined in an integrated format for presentation, and in which the visual layout and focus on different formats can be decided by the author.
Publishing opportunities are offered by institutional archives as well as selected online journals such as RUUKU, Journal for Sonic Studies, VIS and Journal for Artistic Research. The portal can also be used for archiving research data or presenting doctoral and other theses.
The Research Catalog server is hosted in the IT department of KTH in Stockholm and the software and all data are stored at KTH-Royal Institute of Technology with daily backup procedures.
