Internal Evaluation Board

The Internal Evaluation Board is an academic self-governing body. Its activities support and develop the system of quality assurance and internal evaluation of the educational, artistic, scientific and research, development and innovation or other creative or related activities of the School.

It currently acts as an advisory body to the Rector of the School. In general, the competence of the Council is determined by the Higher Education Act, the statutes of the school and its internal regulations, especially the rules for building and ensuring the internal quality assessment system of the school. It is governed by the internal regulation: ‘Rules of the system of quality assurance of educational, creative and related activities and internal evaluation of the quality of educational, creative and related activities of the Janáček Academy of Performing Arts in Brno’.

The aim of the quality assurance system is to develop the quality of educational, artistic and other creative and related activities and thus contribute to the fulfilment of the strategic objectives and expectations of the diverse stakeholders. The aim is also to regularly evaluate the outputs of all activities, especially in comparison with domestic and foreign universities and other external entities, and to use the evaluation outputs for the improvement and development of JAMU. The main stakeholders of JAMU are applicants, students, employees, alumni, employers, institutions of the private, public and non-profit sectors (domestic and foreign), and in a broader sense also the general public, the state and society.

Quality assurance of educational, creative and related activities is the process of setting a goal, choosing an appropriate way to achieve the goal, achieving the goal and reflecting on the need for improvement. The quality assurance system as a whole has four basic phases, namely planning, implementation, evaluation and improvement. Quality assurance is based on the cyclical repetition of interrelated activities at appropriate time intervals. Quality evaluation is an integral part of the quality assurance system and is based on the comparison of the results achieved with the objectives set, on monitoring the fulfilment of the requirements and expectations of the stakeholders and on monitoring the fulfilment of basic standards towards improvement.
