For those arriving
Conditions of admission
Study stays – internships within the framework of lifelong learning are open to citizens of the Czech Republic and foreigners, graduates of secondary schools who demonstrate talent and skills in a given field at a level corresponding to the requirements for study in a bachelor’s degree programme. Teaching for foreigners is usually in English or German.
The candidate shall submit evidence of educational qualifications, educational qualifications in the relevant field, a curriculum vitae and a record of his/her own performance. The faculty has the right to invite the candidate to appear in person for consideration.
The Dean of the faculty together with the faculty management decides on admission to the study stay or on the duration of the study stay on the proposal of the relevant department.
Study
At present, the Faculty of Music provides instruction in all accredited disciplines for Czech citizens; for foreign students we offer instruction in percussion, flute, oboe, clarinet, French horn, trumpet, violin, viola, cello, double bass, piano, organ, harpsichord, composition and conducting of choir or orchestra.
Participants most often take a one- or two-semester course, where additional subjects are offered in addition to the main course for a total of 8 lessons (45 minutes) per week.
Within the semester course, it is possible to request a shortened offer containing only lessons in the main subject (or with piano accompaniment), in which case the price is based on the set hourly rate. In the case of a course shorter than 1 semester, it is possible to study only the main subject (with possible piano accompaniment; no other, additional subjects) for 2 hours per week or in another scope (by prior agreement with the teacher). For this shorter form of study, it is not necessary to start studying at the beginning of the semester according to the academic year.
Participants do not take continuous examinations and do not receive a diploma, but only a certificate of completion of the lifelong learning course.
Fees
The price of the basic offer – 1 semester, 8 lessons per week – is EUR 2 500.
In the case of shorter forms of study, the price for 1 lesson is EUR 50 (main course), EUR 20(piano accompaniment).
