Arriving students

Foreign exchange students study at the Faculty of Arts within the Theatre Without Borders (DBH) studio, which offers them a special study programme in English. This program aims to create a space for artistic and educational exchange between European foreign students and the specific environment of Central European cultural tradition and atmosphere.

Through the involvement of methods and experiences of Czech cultural practice in internationally oriented artistic education, the Theatre Without Borders (DBH) programme is being developed. It is conceived as a process of collecting suggestions from students of European theatre schools, continuously analysing them (including their needs and preferences) and placing them in the broader context of the Central European history of ideas and artistic uniqueness.

The DBH programme focuses primarily on the staging and production design courses, in which international students work with the Theatre Faculty teachers to create a chamber production each semester. The resulting performance is then staged either at JAMU or at a host theatre space. Faculty students from full-time studies are also involved in the projects.

The TwB program also includes courses focused on voice education and the development of movement and dance skills. In addition, international students have the opportunity to attend selected courses and workshops from the regular faculty offerings.

In order to offer international students the best possible study experience, we ask them to send us their requirements in good time, ideally with their application.

International students who wish to study in the Czech Republic on the basis of intergovernmental agreements and apply for scholarships provided by the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports of the Czech Republic can also join the DBH programme.
