Consortium of aid

obrazek-2

The Help Consortium is an independent “third” party that helps build an open and safe space for both male and female students, faculty and staff in our campus community. The Consortium contributes to the creation and development of a fair learning and working environment, both in terms of psychological support, crisis intervention or the resolution of various types of conflicts and problems (primarily in the areas of ethics, equal conditions or abuse of power), and in terms of counselling and prevention. The Faculty fulfils the function of an ombudsplatform and also provides a full psychological support service.

The activities of the Aid Consortium are establishedMethodological instruction of the Dean of the Theatre Faculty No. 1/2026 on the establishment of the Consortium of Assistance of the Theatre Faculty of JAMU.

  • At DF JAMU we are not only interested in art, but also in people. We listen to everyone – whether you are a student, teacher, employee or anyone else. If something is bothering you, we’re here to intervene before it starts to feel like a third act drama.
  • We help settle tense situations, find common ground and better ways to talk to each other.
  • When necessary, we draw the attention of the relevant JAMU authorities to undesirable phenomena and suggest solutions and ways out.
  • We also focus on prevention – spreading awareness, methodology and tips on how to avoid problems before they arise. The goal is that no one at JAMU should feel overlooked or left out of the scene.
  • We provide psychological support in challenging situations related to studying or working at the Faculty of Arts at JAMU.

  • If you feel that something is going on around you that really doesn’t belong at the college (or in polite behaviour) – such as discrimination, bullying, unwanted behaviour, unequal treatment, sexual harassment, abuse of power, violence or mobbing/bossing – whether from a teacher, colleague, student or boss.
  • You are a participant/victim/witness of a situation that affects you physically, psychologically or humanly and you feel that it is an interference with your dignity.
  • If you are not sure whether a behaviour or situation violates the Disciplinary Regulations of the JAMU Faculty of Arts or the School’s Code of Ethics and you want to consult someone about it.
  • If you feel that psychological support would be helpful in your situation.
  • You need to get your thoughts straight and could use the unbiased perspective of someone who is not personally involved in the whole situation.

  • Within the consultation – by agreement
  • If necessary, you can contact specific consortium members, see previous section.

Submitting a complaint or requesting help with a solution:

Just write to e-mail konsorcium.df@jamu.czor any of us. In the introductory email, it helps if you briefly describe what is involved.

You can also contact us anonymously – but you must leave at least some contact information so that we can get back to you. Everything you share with us stays between us, discretion is one of our priorities.

Then we get together (usually in pairs, depending on the situation), listen to you, map out what needs to be addressed and agree on next steps. When it makes sense, we invite other stakeholders – but always by mutual agreement.

Solution options? This may be necessary:

  • a facilitated meeting with the other party,
  • mediation,
  • forwarding the complaint to the Disciplinary or Ethics Committee,
  • suggestions directed to teachers or faculty management,
  • support in finding other professional help, etc.
  • Not every situation necessarily leads to further action – sometimes just talking and getting your bearings can help. Nothing is ever done “behind our backs”, everything is arranged together.

Psychological support:

Sometimes it’s just too much. Whether it’s because of school, work or personal life – psychological support is available for anyone who finds themselves in a difficult situation that significantly affects their time at JAMU. In this case we offer:

  • Psychotherapeutic counselling – when you are struggling with anxiety, emotional difficulties, communication or relationship problems, stress management, insecurity, burnout or academic failure.
  • Psychological accompaniment – for example, when challenging topics (personal/collective traumas, crossed boundaries, working with difficult social issues, etc.) are opened up during study, creation or teaching.
  • Crisis intervention – if acute professional help is needed.
  • Arranging other services – e.g. psychiatric, addiction, psychotherapy, partner counselling, etc.

You can contact doc. Mgr. Lucia Hornová, PhD. and Mgr. Jitka Mansfeldová. Write them an e-mail, arrange a first meeting, where you will tell them together what brings you together. The collaboration can be one-off or longer – depending on what you need.
