MEETING/ENCOUNTER

International festival of theatre schools with more than 30 years of tradition. The main organisers are the students of the Theatre Faculty of the Janáček Academy of Performing Arts in Brno.

Every year, the festival attracts student companies from theatre schools from all over the world.

Havel briefcases

The Havel Briefcases competition for the best original short theatre play inspired by Václav Havel’s drama is announced by the Faculty of Theatre of JAMU in cooperation with the Czech Centre in Paris.
The aim is to support the original dramatic work of our students and to make it visible in the professional theatre environment.

Symposium of the Theatre and Education Studio

A meeting for the professional and lay public, students and teachers of art and pedagogical universities, teachers of primary, secondary and elementary art schools and theatre lecturers.

Festival Sítko

The aim of the festival is to enable current and future students of the studio and its graduates, teachers, and students of other disciplines to meet.
An important part of the festival is the presentation of graduation projects and productions by students of the Bachelor’s and Master’s programmes, as well as the presentation of outputs created by the students of the studio during the academic year.

Salon of original creation

A festival of staged readings and productions based on original works by students of the JAMU Faculty of Performing Arts.
On the basis of a call, original texts are collected, to which any of the students can then choose a specific text and subsequently develop it into a stage reading or theatre production.
During the two-day festival, these artistic outputs are then presented.

Studio 205

Atelier 205 was created within the School Magazine course at the Theatre Faculty of JAMU on the initiative of students. Atelier 205 is not just a magazine. It is a place where students of the Faculty of Theatre can train in editorial work and where they can present their work. A place where they discuss, reflect and create.
