Equal opportunities

JAMU is interested in continuing to promote diversity and work-life balance policy, and wants to continue to increase work efficiency to strengthen internal harmony and improve internal university culture.

JAMU adheres to the principles of equality, takes a responsible approach to equal opportunities policy and openly promotes equal treatment, non-discrimination and the reconciliation of work and family/personal life. It provides its employees with appropriate working conditions and a safe working environment.

JAMU wants to be a model of responsible behaviour and thus positively influence society and the world around us. It is interested in fostering and developing an environment in which male and female employees and students have equal opportunities in all areas.

As a public art university, JAMU requires that persons associated with it identify with ethical and moral rules, create an environment conducive to their observance in their activities, and thus meet the legitimate expectations and demands of society.

JAMU has a Code of Ethics, which summarizes the basic ethical and moral rules for employees, students and members of JAMU bodies and is publicly available on the JAMU website. Through its Code of Ethics, JAMU subscribes to moral values, supports ethical principles in all its processes and opposes discrimination.

In order to achieve these goals, JAMU implemented an equal opportunities audit (gender audit) in 2023, which resulted in the Equal Opportunities Plan/Gender Equality Plan (GEP) of JAMU, which was developed in the context of the Plan for the Promotion of Gender Equality of the Ministry of Education for the years 2021-2024.

The actions and activities specified in this JAMU Gender Equality Plan for the period 2024-2027 are also in line with the JAMU philosophy, where the University perceives the promotion of equal opportunities as part of its social responsibility and declares support for team diversity, teamwork and belonging based on mutual dialogue, respect and openness.

If you have any suggestions or comments on the equal opportunities agenda at JAMU, you can contact the Chair of the JAMU Equal Opportunities Working Group Ing. Dana Horníčková.

Equal opportunities are one of the priorities of a democratic society, a long-term priority of the EU and a declared priority of the Government of the Czech Republic. JAMU follows the objectives of the European Union in the field of gender equality, the document Equality Union: a strategy for gender equality for the period 2020-2025 and the government document Gender Equality Strategy for 2021-2030, which formulates measures necessary to increase the quality of life of women and men in the Czech Republic to a level comparable to other European countries.

At JAMU we care about your well-being and safety.
We believe that every student and employee deserves to study and work in an environment where they feel safe and respected. Therefore, we have prepared links to help you navigate social safety issues and teach you how to behave in difficult situations.

At JAMU we actively try to create an environment where everyone feels safe and respected. Take advantage of the opportunities offered and help us build a better academic community.

We have prepared specialised courses to give you a comprehensive overview of social security issues. You will learn how to recognise risky situations and how to prevent them.

As part of the PPRO HEIs – Strategic Management project, representatives of HEIs have produced the document below. JAMU plans to build on this material and improve conditions for its employees.
