How to get to Brno
The nearest international airports are in Brno, Vienna (2 h), Prague (2.5 h) and Bratislava (1.5 h),

The Czech Republic has a well-functioning network of trains and long-distance buses. If you are travelling from Prague to Brno, you can choose between train and bus.
Bus and train connections from Prague, Bratislava and Vienna are provided by several carriers:

JAMU students can use the canteen Masaryk University (MUNI)which offers affordable meals.

Brno offers a wide range of restaurants – from Czech cuisine to international establishments.

In Brno, food delivery apps such as Foodora, Bolt Food and Wolt are available.
Most supermarkets are open:
- daily from approximately 7:00 to 21:00/22:00,
- Smaller stores close earlier and may be limited over the weekend.

Students with special dietary needs can visit the Health with Taste store at nám. Svobody, which has plenty of products to satisfy any dietary restrictions or preferences (gluten-free diet, vegan diet, lactose-free diet, etc.)
We recommend to visit Green Market – A popular market with fresh vegetables and local produce in the city centre.
Transport in Brno
Brno has a reliable and efficient public transport system (trams, buses and trolleybuses), which is operated by the Brno City Transport Company within the framework of the JMK ITS system.

Useful tips
- The times between stops are given in the timetables.
- Baggage over 20×30×50 cm requires a separate discounted ticket.
