Any JAMU student who:
- is enrolled in an accredited study programme (Bc., MgA., Ph.D.),
- has fulfilled his/her study obligations towards JAMU,
- has sufficient language skills appropriate to the working environment of the host institution,
- has a clearly defined internship plan and the approval of their studio/department head,
- has been selected in the selection process of his/her faculty or confirmed by the Faculty’s International Office.
First-year students can also apply for short-term internships (Combined Intensive Programmes – BIP).
The internship is also open to JAMU graduates:
- it is necessary to apply for it and be accepted during your studies at JAMU,
- the traineeship must take place within 12 months of graduation,
- the placement counts towards the total 12 months of Erasmus+ mobility support during one study cycle.
- long-term practical training – 2-12 months
- short-term practical internship (BIP, doctoral mobility) – 5-30 days
The selection procedures are usually:
- in winter/spring for the following academic year,
- additional rounds may be announced in the autumn (if places remain available for the summer semester).
Follow the current challenges of your faculty and information from the JAMU Foreign Department.
- The selection procedure is organised by individual faculties of JAMU,
- faculties set their own deadlines and selection process (application, cover letter, interview, portfolio, etc.),
- Admission is decided by the faculty committee or the designated coordinator based on the quality of the application, motivation, academic performance and language skills.
You can always find the latest deadlines and instructions on your faculty’s website or from the Erasmus Faculty Coordinator.
Usually required:
- Completed application form for the selection process (faculty form),
- a preliminary agreement with the institution where you want to do your internship.
The faculty may also require additional documents, such as an art portfolio, references, or recommendations from the studio/department head.
If you are selected, you will be further:
- contact the chosen institution and inform the Faculty’s International Office,
- deliver a Letter of Acceptance (containing the exact dates of the internship) to the Foreign Office,
- conclude a Learning Agreement for Traineeships,
- take the language test,
- sign the grant agreement with the JAMU External Relations Department (you must arrange the signing date with the institutional coordinator),
- Arrange and prepare travel insurance for your entire stay (health, medical expenses and liability insurance),
- check the information in the IS that will be included in the contract (report the change of bank account to euro or other than the one listed in the IS one week before signing the contract and send all bank details – account number, SWIFT, IBAN – to the coordinator),
- sent the final learning agreement and acceptance letter to the coordinator one week before the signing,
- arrange an Individual Study Plan (without this, the internship cannot be implemented unless it is a graduate internship),
- arrange insurance, accommodation, travel and possibly a work visa,
- complete the paperwork with your host organisation (job description, mentor, confirmation).
Foreign department of faculties or External Relations Department will provide you with the necessary forms and template documents and help you with your preparation.
Financial support
All information about the scholarship can be found in the Finance section .
During mobility
During your traineeship, there may be changes to your workload or the length of your stay – this is normal.
The important thing is just to update everything in time and have it confirmed by both institutions.
- If the job or mentor changes, complete the During the Mobility section of the Learning Agreement with the help of your faculty coordinator(s),
- if the internship is extended or shortened, inform the coordinator as soon as possible so that the necessary documents can be amended, an addendum to the contract can be drawn up and, if necessary, financial support can be arranged,
- keep in regular contact with your host organisation and JAMU – you will avoid unnecessary administrative problems,
- Make sure you get confirmation of your internship, attendance and feedback from your mentor.
Extending mobility
- Preliminary approval of the receiving institution,
- you must discuss the extension with the head of the studio/department or supervisor, who must agree to the extension,
- with the consent of the head of the studio/department, you will submit an application for extension of the internship to the Foreign Department of the Faculty of Arts/HF JAMU, subject to approval by the College of the Dean of the Faculty of Arts/HF JAMU,
- in your application, describe the benefits of studying within the framework of the placement already completed and justify the usefulness of extending the work placement.
Approval of an extension of mobility does not automatically entitle you to a scholarship for the extended period. The funding of the extended stay is based on an addendum to the financial agreement. The addendum to the agreement can be processed at JAMU External Relations Department.
The end of mobility
A document confirming the actual duration and progress of the traineeship (must match the Learning Agreement).
In the case of extraordinary grant increases (inclusion, green travel, etc.), all relevant documents needed to close the grant must be submitted to the Institutional Coordinator/Coordinator within 30 days of the end of the mobility.
The faculty may request a short reflection or report on the internship.
Confirmed by the head of the studio or discipline on the basis of a Learning Agreement.
