JAMU is interested in continuing to promote diversity and work-life balance policies, and wants to further increase work efficiency in order to strengthen internal harmony and improve the internal university culture.
JAMU adheres to the principles of equality, takes a responsible approach to equal opportunities policy, and openly supports equal treatment, non-discriminatory access, and work-life balance. It provides its employees with suitable working conditions and a safe working environment.
JAMU wants to be a model of responsible behavior and thus positively influence society and the world around us. It is interested in supporting and developing an environment in which employees and students have equal opportunities in all areas.
As a public university of the arts, JAMU requires that individuals associated with it identify with ethical and moral rules, create an environment conducive to their observance in their activities, and thus meet the legitimate expectations and demands of society.
JAMU has a Code of Ethics that summarizes the basic ethical and moral rules for employees, students, and members of JAMU bodies, which is publicly available on the JAMU website. Through its Code of Ethics, JAMU commits to moral values, supports ethical principles in all its processes, and opposes discrimination.
In order to achieve these goals, JAMU conducted an equal opportunities audit (gender audit) in 2023, which resulted in the JAMU Equal Opportunities Plan/Gender Equality Plan (GEP), created in the context of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports’ Plan for the Promotion of Gender Equality for 2021–2024.
The actions and activities specified in this JAMU Gender Equality Plan for the period 2024-2027 are also in line with JAMU’s philosophy, whereby the university perceives the promotion of equal opportunities as part of its social responsibility and declares its support for team diversity, teamwork, and solidarity based on mutual dialogue, respect, and openness.
If you have any suggestions or comments regarding equal opportunities at JAMU, please contact the chairwoman of the JAMU equal opportunities working group, Ing. Dana Horníčková.
Equal opportunities are one of the priorities of a democratic society, a long-term priority of the EU, and a declared priority of the Czech Government. JAMU follows the European Union’s goals in the area of gender equality, the Union of Equality document: Strategy for Gender Equality for 2020–2025, and the government document Strategy for Gender Equality for 2021 – 2030, which formulates the measures necessary to raise the quality of life of women and men in the Czech Republic to a level comparable to other European countries.
At JAMU, we care about your well-being and safety.
