Project management

Communication within JAMU is an essential part of management. The development of a university-wide strategy for EU-funded projects is the responsibility of a specially created working group.

The project management methodology corresponds to modern project management. It is based on project management tools and methods in accordance with the standards of the International Project Management Association (IPMA) – some of JAMU’s project managers hold internationally recognized certificates from this association. Software support for project management is used (MS Project; the introduction of Exchange Server is planned). In addition to project planning and implementation, routine activities include ongoing monitoring of the implementation of individual activities, budget utilization, adherence to schedules, and the fulfillment of specified outputs and results.

Projects office

The Project Office is one of the departments of the Rector’s Office of the Janáček Academy of Music and Performing Arts, established in January 2008. The Project Office is primarily responsible for implementing projects financed by the European Union Structural Funds, methodically guiding the process of applying for financial contributions from the Higher Education Development Fund and Development Programs of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports, and completing projects implemented under these programs. It organizes a summer intensive English language course for JAMU employees and year-round foreign language courses for JAMU employees.

The main objective of the office is to ensure high-quality conditions for the planning, implementation, and evaluation of projects carried out by JAMU faculties and departments in line with their grant strategy and long-term plans, as well as to methodically manage JAMU faculty project managers.

The content of individual positions is specified in the Project Office Operating Guidelines.
