The JAMU Faculty of Music has a total of twelve departments. Ten departments are focused on teaching playing specific musical instruments, singing, composition and multimedia creation or music production.
The other two departments, the Department of Foreign Languages and the Department of Music and Humanities, are involved in the theoretical teaching of all students in several areas such as foreign languages (English, German, Italian, etc.) or music history, seminars, analysis of musical works or art history.
